CSST Gas Line Requires Bonding - #AskAHomeInspector

Показать описание
Corrugated Stainless Steel Tubing (CSST) is a material commonly used in homes for gas lines, having been installed in about 10 million homes since the 1990's. The flaw is that the material is thinner, making it more prone to puncturing, creating a major fire hazard.
The fix is to ground the CSST by connecting a #8 AWG copper wire from the manifold to the panel box ground. The reason for this safety precaution is that a nearby lightning strike could cause the systems in your structure to become electrically energized. You can do it yourself or contact a licensed electrician.
