California sea lion hops into UCLA rowers' boat

A malnourished sea lion pup hopped into a UCLA rower's boat, surprising the crew and nuzzling some of the athletes.

These stories always blow my mind. Baby animals that ask humans for help are often a tough call and it's not always easy to know what's best for the little critters. Seems like this was the best decision. Way to go.

Weirdest thing ever happened to me while out on the water (Freshman year, 1993, Pacific Lutheran University on American Lake in Tacoma, Washington) was that we almost got hit by a car.

No, really - it was all TO PORT, CAR!" turns out the guy that lived on the island in the middle of the lake we practiced on had one of those amphibious cars, and used it to commute the 200 feet or so to the shore. It was foggy and kinda dark in the morning, and we didn't see each other until it was almost too late.
