Marriage isn't for everyone. My opinion

Not everyone has the desire to be married and there's nothing wrong with that. People want different things for their lives. I agree with Loni's comment that society needs to stop using marriage as a weapon to make single women feel bad about themselves. Although 50% of marriages end in divorce, I still believe in marriage and family.

I wish people would not equate marriage as a evil outdated contract/ govermental practice. People sign contracts everyday and do not complain. How would you react if your boss said just work for me we don't need a contract? I hope most of us would say I need this in writing.

Also, she literally described an oral contract when she said let's just get together and do our own thing. Marriages are messy, but going with the flow can be messy too.

I had to come back to this and say that people are truly missing what marriage is about. It’s not about the government and finances etc. At least for those who have a spiritual eye. Marriage is about becoming one and receiving the blessing from Yah because he honors marriage. Our main purpose is to serve him and their are an abundance of blessings received by uniting in matrimony before Yah. It includes him in that bond keeping him first with the intention of honoring him. The world has turned people away from the beauty of what this is.

I definitely want to be married one day. I am happily single in 2020! I need to get some things in order this year! I’ve just turned 39 back in December!! I’m not a girlfriend. I’m a wife. I’m not against marriage but it’s definitely not a goal for me. If I fall madly in love and truly connect with a person I will want to marry them, but if I never meet someone that I truly feel that way about then it’s not meant to be and I’m fine with it! There’s so much more to life than marriage. I don’t think it’s healthy to have a romantic relationship as the goal in life, but to each their own!

Marriage is sacred and real though, it should only happen between people who are ready to spend the rest of their lives together NO MATTER WHAT. A lot of couples aren’t truly ready for that which is why divorce happens. Marriage should be for better or worse, not for better or til we get bored 😐
