Saturday, September 16, 2017 - Raptor Fest is an event hosted by the New York City Urban Park Rangers. It has been held in different parks throughout the five boroughs of New York City. In 2017, it was held at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. Highlights included Parks Dept. Commissioner Mitchell Silver releasing a rehabilitated red-tailed hawk back into the wild, live birds of prey meet and greets, a puppet show and various nature-based activities. All the raptors at this event are rehabilitated, non-releasable birds of prey that participate in educational programs for the public. Special thanks to Deputy Commissioner Adena Long

That was very cool presentation right there. New York's about 60 miles from where I live. Perhaps I'll consider going next year.
