A Patient who had cirrhosis with chronic Hepatitis B visited a senior resident doctor (Gastroenterologist) who told him he can't start anti viral therapy because of negative viral load.

Thank you Dr. Philips- very useful. There is also this big discussion among specialists (although still divided) on test and treat for HBV ( so treat once HBsAg positive) or decreasing the HBV DNA threshold to 2000 from the current recommendations of 20, 000 IuML. There are also interesting recent articles about the benefits of treating patients at the immune-tolerant phase and the association of advanced liver disease with higher viral load. The HBV medications (on at least a functional cure) and recommendations on when and whom to treat are going to evolve rapidly and will be a fantastic area to watch out for in the next 5 to 10 years. I look forward to more of your talks.

Thank you so much liver doc for explaining this so clearly and simply. This is the best Hep B video I could find on YouTube. It gave me the confidence to take the medication and the knowledge that Hep B is treatable. I am very grateful that you shared this information on YouTube!

Thanks for the wonderful video doc! I have a query, please do answer me. My husband is Hbsag positive, since the last 30 years, his viral load last checked was 4000, earlier it used to be more than 10, 000. LFT was normal, Ultrasound was fine. Can we go for treatment to completely cure him of the virus? Because all along we have been told it is a sleeping virus and treatment can actually activate it! Waiting for your reply!

Last year, during a surgery, I was diagnosed with hepatitis B. Since then, I have been taking Taf 25 mg as prescribed by my doctor. However, I have been experiencing constant fatigue and drowsiness throughout the day. I am unsure of the cause of this and would like to know if there are any ways to alleviate these symptoms. Can you provide any information or guidance on this?

I still didn't get whether hepatitis b can be cured in chronic patience or not.
As per the mayo clinic, chronic hepatitis b is for lifetime, it. can be treated but it cannot be cured

I used to have stomach gas issue very frequently
Had so many tests but no problem
Then one homoeopathy docotor gave a medicine and the problem goes off the window
However the problem came back now and forth
I kept taking homoeo medicine
Whenever I took the medicine, the problem goes off
After shifting to different city, new homoeopathy docotor recommended the hepatitis b disgnose test
And it was positive
On dna viral count my count was 35000
Hepatologist of appllo hospital recommended tentide AF and since then gas problem generally isnt there

I am diagnosed with hepatitis b
Later on discovered it is hereditary
In past One death was also there in family tree because of cirrhosis (without alcohol)

Still on medication but viral count is zero

Have to take medication till cure comes which is under clinical trials
