'He crossed the line': Wayne County judge sued for humiliating teen during courtroom visit

The family of a teen who was handcuffed and forced to put on a jail inmate uniform has filed a lawsuit against the judge who they said humiliated the child during a field trip to his courtroom.

I saw his interaction with a female attorney. He needs to be investigated.

I think that judges past cases deserve a review. He's clearly completely unfit for his job and likely punished many too harshly.

When things like this happen it causes me to ask, "what has he done before that he's gotten away with and no one has stopped him or brought it to the attention of the chief Judge". This judge is a thug and lots of things are going to come out now and there's going to be some investigation on why people haven't spoken up before about this guy. Everything he's done in the past is now going to be under a microscope.
With respect to issues this judge may have had in the past, and attorney appearing before him would be very reluctant to complain to the bar about his conduct . Retaliation would be the number one reason. He's that kind of guy, he was raised on the streets. Everyone knows where their bread is buttered and attorneys know it just as well as anyone else. I was a witness in a arbitration hearing and the attorney representing the defendant told me afterwards that chances are they would lose the case because two of the three attorneys hearing the arbitration had lost previous arbitration to him and they were going to get even with him. Turns out he was right.

He's disgusting. My Mother told me RESPECT and Manners are the first signs that you are communing with an INTELLIGENT being.. Having manners and respect shows others they matter. Showing respect and manners teaches others who you are. The respect and manners you extend is the RESPECT AND MANNERS YOU REQUIRE.

How can he remain a judge.the security should be charged with kidnapping

It's okay for the state to discipline incarcerate and humiliate your kids but if you do it it's child abuse...

He obviously has bad judgement, kick him off the bench immediately! Anyone in authority who abuses their position should be personally sued, not the state.

That judge should be removed permanently.

He doesn’t need “retraining”. He needs jail time. If anybody else did this, they would be in jail awaiting trial. There is no way that this guy should just be walking around Free when he basically kidnapped and illegally held this little girl. That judge is a criminal.

I live in Detroit and I have to say that rich and people in some form of power are getting out of hand. He had a lot to say to a child but now he has nothing to say.

The crazy thing is I was just down there for jury duty last week and the clerk told the whole room full of potential jurors not to play with the "new judges." She said in no uncertain terms that the old judges were classy and tolerant, but that the new judges were harsh and they didn't understand what was wrong with them. But she stressed that we be on time and respectful or they wouldn't hesitate to throw their weight around and take action against us. I was surprised that she spoke about their bad attitude so openly and formally.

The story Humpty Dumpty. We were never told why he fell. But the fall was irreversible. Likewise, Arrogance, Pride, Lust, Greed can bring anyone down. His demise was an ungodly ego. Groups and association will disown him; family will mock him; his wife will certainly contemplate divorce; this will be his last straw with her. The humiliation he intended for that girl has returned on him in breakneck speed and fury.
