People can discount much in the Bible as being just stories, but this is what convinced me. When the Romans came after Jesus everyone scrambled to get away. Only one was ready to fight, but Jesus reattached the ear, and let them all know that if he chose to do so, he can summon angels from heaven to destroy the Roman armies. He allowed them to crucify him.
After the resurrection, the apostles no longer ran. They didn't hide. They instead put their lives at risk to preach the Gospel. They did this despite of the fact that it resulted in their suffering and death. The only logical deduction is that they witnessed the resurrection. The fear of death left them, because they saw that death had been conquered.

All I’m saying, is that if my literal best friend made some dude RISE FROM THE DEAD, healed a guys blindness, and fed thousands of people off a few loaves of bread while proclaiming heaven is real and there is a god; then when he’s being brutally murdered, I wouldn’t stay silent, and I wouldn’t deny him.

It's not even just the idea that they would have lied to the point of being brutally murdered. One of the guys carrying out the brutal murdering claimed to have seen a vision and converted, being arguably the most enthusiastic disciple after his conversion. He knew intimately the kind of torture that awaited him. Not just the atheist, but the Muslim and Jewish beliefs regarding Jesus also prove incredibly weak in the face of these facts.
