That St. Anger thing is such a hit and miss with people. I like the album and always said that if any new band not named Metallica would have put that album out...it would have been considered one of the best albums that year. I just felt it showed Metallica's creativity, not a remake of Master of Puppets.

Hell, yeah, it is the most mature (artistically speaking) album of Metallica. It is the album where Dyers Eve, One, And Justice for All, Blackened, Eye of the Beholder and Shortest Straw were shown to the world, God bless the four horsemen for that!

Fade to Black is by far Metallica's best. It's got a couple great riffs. It's got a great solo. It's not completely intense metal, and it's got great flow and transitions.
