Jim Delligati did not invent the Big Mac sandwich. He basically renamed the Bob's Big Boy burger, which was created by Bob Wian. "Interviewed by the Los Angeles Times in 1993, Delligatti agreed that he was not the inventor of the double-decker burger". He basically rebranded the Big Boy burger.

I'm 38...when I was a pre-teen big macs actually had a circular cover over the burger because it was...you know...big enough to warrant that so it wouldn't fall apart. My Mom said it was much bigger when she was its the size of a value burger...It just keeps shrinking. It pisses me off that they want to market a larger mean even smaller than it was to begin with!

Back then you had to go the the actual restaurant to get it. Now I order it through door dash and the big mac meal gets delivered to my front door.
