I'd like to have this synth, it sounds so... Eighties...

I worked at a large music center in St. Louis when I was a youngin' in the early 80s. The JUNO 60 was easily our top seller at a list price of $1795. Man we sold a ton of these! I sold one to Geezer Butler (bass player in Black Sabbath). He was looking for a 'toy' to play with. Very pleasant guy. Nice rock & roll memory.

I actually had a Juno-6! You're going to cry when I tell you how I got it. I lived in upstate NY near the Quebec border in a very rural area. I was driving along a back road and came across a yard sale. I stopped because I noticed a keyboard set up. Figuring that it was probably garbage, I stopped anyway out of curiosity. Lo and behold, it was a Juno-6...for TEN DOLLARS!!! I shit you not, the old lady was just clearing out space after her last son moved out. It became part of my regular rig until I lost it in a bad flood. I really liked that board. Now, I have the Roland JU-06 boutique module and I have to say Roland did a good job on it!

As Jean Michele Jarre said in a famous quote, "synths like these are like the Stradivarius, timeless and priceless sounds." Gorgeous awesome sounds.

Impossible not to love this synth - so authentic, gritty, and gorgeous.

Roland engineers in the 80s must have been smoking that DMT. How could you otherwise come up with such a glorious instrument? It makes the sound of angels. It’s creation. Every function is necessary and nothing is superfluous. Pure perfection. (Except it doesn’t have MIDI).

My brother had one of these & I eventually bought a 106. The HS-60 is also basically the same thing. But with built in speakers. Once you learn the basics they are very intuitive to use & you can just jam on them for ages, concocting sounds as you go.

A lot of these sound reminded me of the original Blade Runner Soundtrack from 1982

George Michael did Last Christmas on this synth. He played all instruments including the drum machine. All sounds on that song came from this machine.

I bought a Juno-60 from my friends dad in the mid 80's for $150 bucks cause he left it out in the rain and one of the white keys was broken! Such a steal but I earned it with my fast food job. Worked okay but had a short somewhere in it. Always tinkered around on it but finally sold it after 30 years to a guy in Australia for $750... I really had something special and regret letting it go. Love your channel!!

It's one of the best synths I have ever bought and I still find it very inspiring. For me, the chorus FX and also the touch/action are what make it so exceptionally pleasant to play.

When I hear the Juno, so many songs pop into my head. Eurythmics and Kim Wilde especially.

I have the juno 6, picked it up in the early 90's when nobody wanted such a thing, still one of my favourites, I fitted the tubbutec midi conversion recently which gives you more adjustable functions including portamento, and a simple note sequencer added to the arpeggiator - brilliant!

Had a Juno-6 for about 4 months now. The same synth but without the preset / memory section.

It's a great synth. Creates far bigger sounds than it should thanks to the sub-osc, pwm and chorus.

Definitely pick a 6 or 60 up if you see one.

A good friend of mine had one of these and the best I could describe the sound... effortless. Open-throated, relaxed with no hint of tension that so many other synths had at the time. Sort of like a Hammond organ in the sense that it is hard to know exactly what in the sound made it that way.
