Before the tournament began I was telling my friend who's not so much a Futbol fan that Denmark is one of the better teams in the World cup. He probably thinks I am clueless

You have to give credit to Australia. They had to beat Peru in a single game playoff just to get to the World Cup. They played with energy in all 3 games of group play. Now they are in the round of 16!

Denmark were favorites in some people's eyes to reach the semi-finals or even the final.
I think the pressure got to them after their recent surprise success at Euro 2020 and their wins over France.
They looked too burdened and ran out of steam.

Credit to Australian manager Graham Arnold for keeping his team focussed after the bad loss to France. To win their next two games is commendable.
