iOS Tutorial - Date Picker View (UIDatePicker) for selecting and formatting date

I am new to developing and am havng trouble figureing out how to make it so that when a date is selected on the UIDatePicker (button is used to confirm selection) a UIImage is called. (to give you an idea there are 8 Images and each each image has approximatly 20 dates associated with it(01/01/2012 thru 01/30/2012 is image 1 etc.) .  When the user selects a date and hits the go button the specific UIImageview is shown based on the date they selected. How would you do this and could you show it in a video ?
