Fishing the Double Down Plopper for some angry river smallmouth! I'm a big fan of plopper lures, they're both effective and fun to fish, and it's always interesting to try a new one!

HARD to find another YouTuber that makes you feel like you're literally sitting in the kayak like this guy does 👏

Dear NYD, I am thoroughly enjoying your fishing adventures: A quiet, peaceful voice, a passion AND you practice 'catch and release' as I do. Wonderful! Thank You Good Sir. FMR Intelligence Officer

Matt, having recently made my first few kayak fishing excursions, my appreciation of your total boat control has increased exponentially. And i wasn't even on a stream, just a couple of small lakes to essentially get a "feel" for things. I just hope to get half as good as you are at handling all aspects of it. Thanks for your work here.

You make fishing seem so relaxing and effortless. When I go it’s lotsa suffering succotash 🤬 changing lures getting lines stuck and kids asking me for help haha but I love it and hope to get to the point we can all relax and fish. 🎣 just got lotsa years of learning and teaching to get there ❤ thanks for your channel

When Matt enters the water, the theme music from Jaws should be playing! The lures are actually made to catch the fisherman.

I like to fish in North Dakota myself. The Bass Pro Shops XPS bladebaits were just on sale for the spring sale but I can save those for later. The XPS shallow suspending shad will be in my gear when I come back. Both of these have sharp hooks out of the package.

When he took the time to point the camera back up and appreciate the history of that old wooden bridge, it reminds me why I like this channel so much. Also, you rarely see any other people in these videos makes you feel like you’re the only person on earth. So peaceful and relaxing. Thanks.

Great to see the old yak! When not hearing the double plopper I appreciate the water on the oars. Thanks, Angler

Tough to add a comment when everyone says what we are thinking. Thank you for my 10 minute lunch break. Even enjoy it when you have a challenge with your lure. Love the critique as well. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you, Matt, for another relaxing, peaceful trek on a quite little river punching holes in the water for some beautiful smallies, it just doesn't get any better than that! Take care and be safe!

Thank you for yet another great video! I'm getting excited about doing some St Lawrence fishing this coming week, gonna spend a few days with my brother, who lives there. I don't get out much, at age 81, but I till get my fix with this channel and with a few days out on the water. I got a new baitcasting rod and reel, and will be using braid and fishing some of the same lures you've demonstrated. Can't miss! Thanks again for keeping this old guy in the game!
