Aerated Concrete, no wonder our schools verge on collapse!

School buildings are collapsing thanks to being built with aerated concrete - cheap concrete with air in. Replace them now!
Right so, for the last 13 years of Tory rule, we’ve been told a lot about what we can’t afford any more haven’t we? Who’s fault that is, who is to blame and the tough decisions that have to be made, to cut spending, pay down the debt, austerity as the Tories advocated, no longer able to do the things we want in power, as Labour are telling us now. So what gets spent on? What gets done? There was always money for Ukraine, there was always money to deal with the pandemic, there was always money to keep the Tories in power, as Theresa May bribed the DUP, there was always money to spend on stuff the government wanted and in the way they wanted to, best serving us not usually at the forefront of their minds as all the pandemic waste has shown, but never necessarily the stuff we actually need and have needed for some time. This isn’t a problem unique to recent governments, but where there’s been little to define Labour from the Tories as we’ve seen over many years, certainly all the Prime Ministers that have been in power during my lifetime, I was born under Callaghan, who was well to the right of Harold Wilson for example, Thatcher and Kinnock, Major and Blair, Blair & Brown, Cameron up to Sunak and Starmer now, there’s been sod all between them in their desire to serve establishment interests and not the well being of the country and it’s gone on for far too long now. Infrastructure has been so poorly invested in that an appalling report from the National Audit Office has put into perspective for me just how long this failure has gone on and why it cannot go on any longer. The NAO have now reported that some 700,000 children in the UK are attending schools in need of critical repairs to the point a school collapse causing death or serious injury is now considered very likely. The government right now, due to years of disinterest frankly, how can you take it as being due to any other reason, does not have the information necessary to manage these serious risks to our kids either. Do you know what is worse though? This isn’t a new report. The NAO reported this to the government in 2021 and they’ve still done sod all. If it was Eton, if it was Harrow, if it was Winchester, the money for repairs wouldn’t be a question, but our kids, in ordinary comps and primary schools? Not a chance.

►ABOUT ME:
I'm an unpaid carer for my disabled wife and daughter and as such we know all too well the difficulties that associated with that living in Tory Britain and I personally believe the answer lies in socialism.
This channel, along with my other social media act as outlets to push back against that, to demand better of our politicians and leaders, to pull apart the media spin that supports them and the way the UK is run and to give a voice, loud as mine is, to the voiceless.

Assuming we allow £10, 000, 000 to build a brand new school, 3, 700 of them could have been built with the £37, 000, 000, 000 that vanished on a useless test and trace system or PPE contracts for Tory friends, families and donors. And when a school does collapse what will we hear? The pathetic, insincere and now threadbare 'apologies have been issued; lessons have been learned.'

My daughter is a teacher in a London primary school and tells me the exact same thing .
Maintenance on the school has been cut to the bone and some school supplies have to be covered by parents .
Last year in 2022 the block her classroom is in lost two days as it had to close because there was no heating in the middle of winter .

Many schools occupy premium land including, in many cases, sports fields attached. Run schools down, collapse, close them down, relocate pupils and lay staff off, sell buildings and land to highest bidder to develop luxury apartments- the Tory way fully supported by Labour 👏

I worked at a college in the early 2000s that was literally using wartime temporary buildings as classrooms.

100% on taxing unproductive wealth. Stop skivers and shirkers from sitting on the wealth from other people's hard work!

This is why they wanted schools to become acadamies, palming them off onto individuals

there was a period after the Grenfell fire where councils and housing associations where expected to fire proof high rise dwellings, but they where skint, the govt released the cash
locally for the last five years workers and their families have had a regular income doing this and this has helped the economy
is this so different ? its a massive construction job but it could be done, or do we have to wait for a disaster first ?

RACC is not just used in school buildings it also used in the likes of flyovers and motorway bridges.
Where I live there's a flyover that has chunks of this concrete missing and rusted tie bars on view, the council want government money to take it down so they can put in a flower laden bicycle lane.
It's massive this problem just hope it does end up in anyone's death.

Sunak was not the PM when these shoddy buildings were erected.
For people aged under 40 I suggest you research the years 1997-2010 and tell me how many new schools were built and/or modernised.

It's always been this way, budgets where a lesser job is done & someone pockets the difference, look at our roads, only those under Highways Agency get fixed regularly, the others you travel at your own risk / peril. And they want cheap shoddily built housing to attain gold standard? 🤣

If London establishment and politicians stopped toeing Washington line and grew a spine in their dealings with US, they're would be plenty to invest in UK.
