Mindful testing: Balancing test coverage and maintenance

Google has a strong culture of Product Excellence which is characterized by our focus on “Landings not Launches”. GCP adds to that through its culture of Reliability. An integral part of both of these is Mindful Testing -- the art and science of writing and maintaining just the right number and type of tests to give you full product coverage.

This talk focuses on the 5 principles of Mindful Testing. This talk shares tips, tooling and case studies for each principle showing how it is practiced in GCP. The talk also includes stories from our combined 18 years of EngProd experience at Google on what has worked (and what hasn’t) for effective product testing.
