Xiaomis mid range is almost 4 times cheaper than the "budget" iphone but they are amazing

As a person who upgraded from a phone from xiaomi (can't remember the name) with 16/2gb to this phone felt like I went from a 2013 phone to a Submodern 2018 phone, felt like a huge upgrade (when I upgraded comparing them felt like a budget to a flagship) even though it's a mid range phone, I think what tech YouTubers should do is use the previous phone that the phone that they are about to rate that's replacing that certain phone for a week so they can develop a mind like 'ok so this is the previous phone that the phone I'm gonna rate is replacing'

this phone is INSANE I had it since prob 2019 and as of 2025 it still works, I got a new one around 2023 because I dipped it in the WC accidentally (ruined the speakers tho) but it came back to life. The screen only got broken when I gave it to my bro for a week (he can't fuckin take care of stuff) I've unlocked it's bootloader since 2022 and ran only custom ROMs on it so I'm using it as a 2nd phone with android 15. Even the battery still works but it might be reaching EOL, and the hardware prob has lots of wear since the performance isn't as good as it used to be, and 4 gb of RAM hit hard in 2025, even with swap.

Your camera rating still surprises me, mainly the night shot results. MI 8 lite is better than most of its competitors, actually I found just two devices of similar quality: Realme 2 Pro (you call it "excellent camera for the class", its night pics still slightly less sharp, both regular and lab comparison photo). Honor 8 X generally inferior (night-mode pics are questionable -oversaturated and spoiled, and nowhere near Mate Pro and co. - two utterly different Worlds, Mate P20 Pro has even regular night pics incomparably better - I prefer them over night mode). Samsung A7 is a joke cam completely. The other one is suprisingly Honour Play - maybe even better details and sharpness but lacks in dark and night scenes. Highly rated Redmy Note 6 Pro - at night absolutely smashed by MI - maybe you can compare the part of the picture ur zooming in to notice the night pics noise - Maybe higher noise of sky but the sharper is the targeted object.

What is the best Phone to buy new or reconditioned for about the 200 dollars or £200 price point ???Moto G7 range , honour 8x, honour 10, honour play, Xiaomi miA2, redmi 8 lite, Nokia 7.1 or reconditioned 2017 Samsung galaxy 7edge, or lG G6, or what else is better with good camera and video capabilities and good battery and overall good phone ???
