Jury awards Vanessa Bryant $16 million in Kobe helicopter crash photos lawsuit

A federal jury on Wednesday awarded Vanessa Bryant and another plaintiff $31 million in combined damages over graphic photos taken and shared from the scene of the 2020 helicopter crash that killed her husband, Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant, their daughter, Gianna, and seven other people.

Good morning, so happy they won. I wish it was more then that. People shouldn’t mess around with peoples life. So cruel that this women and her daughters had to go through this. So disgusting that people, would take pictures of an accident and make fun of it or even laugh. How cruel. I pray that these pictures are never anywhere. All these haters have no clue. Their vitriol is ignorant and misguided. Witnesses blew away the Sheriffs department's defense their the deputies took the photos for evidence in their phones all the time.
But to share the viewing at bars or a sheriff function where a wife of a deputy reported to the department, deputies laughing at the burnt corpses. Yeh, it wasn't about money, it was about exposing the corrupt behavior of the sheriff and his minions.
