I always wanted to try to hit a tweener but I'm scared that I'm going to hit the wrong ball.

What is the advantage on hitting between your legs?
I've been trying to return lobs while turned back and hitting from the side looks much easier.
Of course, running a bit more and hitting a forehand is even easier.

It is easier with a slight backhand grip, and I think the contact point should be slightly lower, about ankle height. Most importantly, though, is wrist action and racket head acceleration.
