I own a 2021 C8 Stingray. It's a 1LT, with the performance exhaust. I chose the LT1 primarily to avoid all the Collision Avoidance and Lane Departure crap. I don't care to have a HUD, but I miss a heated & cooled seats. Then again, the vette has a small cab and the AC/Climate Controls work great, so maybe I don't need it.

As far as the ride quality, (and I've driven both), frankly the ride is great, and configurable in the base model. I think Chevrolet did their homework brilliantly on the ride, handling and suspension, as they did with they did with the LT2 engine. My only advice is to buy one, and drive it everyday!

I still have the thrill of ownership, and I have no complaints, none, only praises to an amazing Supercar.

My older C5 Non-Mag was amazing (Soft & Stable) for daily driving on Florida (Flat and straight ) Roads. So I ordered mine C8 with out Mag Ride. The Price for C8s have gone up from $59k to now $70K in just 4 years.

Mag ride will proved a extremely stiff suspension on demand when placed in track mode and a very pleasant soft ride in tour. Also, you can adjust "my mode" suspension stiffness as well as "Z" mode. This is the benefit and in my opinion totally worth the upgrade.

This has been needed for quite some time. Most out there do not have experience in a C8 with and without MRC for daily drive usage. I spent days trying to find anything even anecdotal and there is not a lot. Constraints hit me as I was so sold on MRC but it was not available and I took the allocation.

Thanks for putting this together and just giving us an every day person perspective.

It’s more for cornering on the track and in the Mountains. Yes it will make some small difference around town but huge on the track. Stops body roll.
You’re right 2000 is nothing to have a better functioning car.
I got it on mine and love it!

My 2023 C8 does not have mag-ride due to parts constraints. My 2022 C8 does have mag-ride, I honestly don’t feel the difference.

Exactly what I did. I’m at 3400 status. Cant wait. I’ve never even sat in a C8. No need to. I knew I had to have it

There is a difference. You can tell when you change the modes from track, sport and touring. You should be able to instantly tell because track mode beats you up bad on rough roads and in touring ride is much smoother. Sport is only slightly different from touring ; however, you can tell the difference more on rougher roads. Mag ride makes touring ride like a luxury car. It is really soft ride.

The main difference on my non-Z 51 C8 with magnetic ride is it substantially stiffens the ride when you put it in sport or track mode compared to tour mode, and I love being able to adjust the ride if I want to get more spirited or if I’m out on the freeway somewhere

I’ve owned 6 C8’s. In the Atlanta area the roads are rather smooth. No winter damage. Mag ride isn’t necessary. Front lift isn’t necessary. 3LT isn’t necessary. HTC has a better sound exhaust because of the rear window can be lowered. Actually don’t need the 2Lt in the HTC.

I got a dealership built "24. I'm surprised they built 3LT without the magnetic ride control but it drives smoother than my previous car and that's all that matters to me.

I have a C7Z and a C8. Both have mag ride, and It is VERY noticeable when you switch modes…immediately.

Drivers interested in C8 MRC, aka MSRC, may want to watch YouTube channel Engineering Explained on this technology. Also there are other videos that exceed the very limited test in this video above from Freedom Driven. In short, many drivers love the extra settings that a C8 owner would get with this option. It is tied to PTM to allow much more driving performance modes vs driving around the block above. In short, instead of all wheels reacting the same without MRC, each wheel would react independently or in combination for pot holes, dips in roads, bumbs, in addition to accessing PTM. Example no MRC in Launch Control = Competitive Mode = a less advanced traction mode vs if MRC = PTM & choosing various performance modes, Sport, Race 1, Race 2. I feel that reading all about this technology it is a great option for better performanc & a better ride, as a driver can set Tour, Sport, Track in MRC and have more choice vs a standard set-up with no settings. I feel it's the best $1900 you will add to your vette! Go read up on this; there's more to this option than some that say "they can't really tell."

Absolutely 100% worth it.
I wouldn’t even own the car if it didn’t have magnetic ride

My Z51 will show up by mid April. I optioned dual stripes, body color accents, front lift, dual roof, 3LT. I am a 66-year-old car guy. BUT! I effed up thinking mag was INCLUDED in theZ51 package. I just realized this. MSRP is $93+. The dual roof price alone would pay for mag. But. What the hell. I’m old. The car is badass. I doubt I’ll notice. If I do? I’ll reorder the exact combination with mag. Life is short kiddies! Raise hell!

I didn’t order mag ride since the sales person himself told me it’s no noticeable difference

The answer is ALWAYS get mag ride if you have the option to..There’s absolutely a difference in ride, rather the difference is very noticeable depends on too many factors to debate about including how good of a driver you are. Is mag ride a DEALBREAKER? I’d say if you’re gonna daily drive or drive often or drive every time you get the chance -YES, it’s a dealbreaker. If it’s ur 2nd or 3rd car and you’ll only take it out on weekends Saturday nights etc or every other week or only special occasions then you can go without it and not feel ur missing anything

You CANT really tell the "difference" between TWO different cars as much as feel the difference in the ride in the SAME car.
Now, if you just use the car as a Grand Tourer and never track or drive it HARD through the twisties, then NO REAL NEED for MSRC.
For me, when I have gone to the TRACK or run places like the "Back of the Dragon" its a HUGE difference, near the "limit". Once I am done I switch back over to TOUR/soft for the drive home or just for around town.

Again, if you DONT have it there is nothing to miss. To decide if it is right for you drive a car with it and switch from TOUR to TRACK and pay attention only to ride/suspension, THAT will give you a feel for the real difference... Two different cars is not the best way, IMHO
