RIP and Bless all who gave the ultimate sacrifice in US military service. Veteran's Day (11/11) is for all who took the oath and wore the uniform; Armed Services Day is for all who currently serve - but today is especially for those who perished in the line of duty - "LORD of Hosts, be with us yet. Lest we forget - lest we forget."

Most people don't catch on to the fact that this is actually a DUET! Yes, Sammy sharing vocal duties here with Mike Reno, of Loverboy. I'm really showing my age here but my first concert was Sammy Hagar to support this album. I was 12 years old and couldn't wait to hear this song live. Loved it then, love it now. Glad you caught on immediately to what a great tune it is. My love to all military members and families, you rock!

I first saw Sammy when he was fronting for Montrose (RIP). This was 51 years ago when I was only 15.
Been a fan ever since.

"Your Love Is Driving Me Crazy" off the same album is also fantastic. The album is called "Three Lock Box" definitely worth a listen to the full album. Sammy is definitely a rocker and he can play guitar as well.

Thanks for reacting to this song that calls on us to remember the heroes. Especially the ones from Vietnam. My experience was a 180 from what Vietnam veterans had to endure upon their return. God bless our military and help our leaders.

Sammy Hagar has an entire library of awesome albums.

You could listen to Standing Hampton or Three Lock Box and never reach for the skip button.

To all who gave their lives in the line of service, I salute you. Another essential Memorial Day song is Some Gave All by Billy Cyrus.

Mike Reno, the vocalist from Loverboy sings the co-vocal part. Their voices together mesh beautifully to pay respect. God Bless America.

Nice hearing you guys reacting to Sammy Hagar solo. I've been listening to Sammy since his days with Montrose (1973-1975) with hits like "Rock the Nation", "Space Station #5", "Bad Motor Scooter" & "Rock Candy". Sammy has so many great songs: "Cruisin' and Boozin'", "Turn Up the Music", "Red", "Rock 'N' Roll Weekend", "Turn Up the Music", "You Make Me Crazy", "Plain Jane", Trans Am (Highway Wonderland)", "Falling in Love", "This Planet's on Fire", "I'll Fall in Love Again", "There's Only One Way to Rock", "Baby's on Fire", "Your Love Is Driving Me Crazy", "Two Sides of Love", "I Can't Drive 55"...and this is just 1975 to 1982!

Just a few weeks back I was thinking about Mike Reno, (the lead singer for Loverboy, and the guy who sings the second and third verse) and I was like wait a minute, didn't he do a song with Sammy Hagar at one point? And then I remembered this and listened to it for the first time since it was new in 1983. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it sounded after all these years. It's a largely forgotten song and perfectly appropriate for this day. Thanks for reacting to it.

The patriotic rocker offered a poignant reminder that no matter what your position on war itself, it's important to acknowledge the sacrifices made by our soldiers.

Sammy Hagar cowrote this with Jonathan Cain of Journey who plays keys and sings back up. Mike Reno of Loverboy also sings harmony. 1982 from Three Lock Box, which I have on cassette from back then.
