Watching this I am forced to contemplate what primitive cultures of the past must have thought about such phenomena as lightning, aurora, the change between day and night and even the stars in the sky. We understand all of these much better now and though they have lost their aura of mystery and any supernatural connotations, they are no less awe inspiring and beautiful to behold. Knowledge, in my view, in no way precludes self-transcending spiritual experiences, it only deepens them.

Why are you convinced that reality is only limited to what we can sense, observe and understand? There are realities beyond the reach of physical perception.
By the way Islam demands belief in the unseen and also it does reveal truths about the physical world but sets the focus on the spiritual well being and perfection. It invites you to become a better human being by experiencing the reality rather than just knowing it. Science isn't much helpful in this domain.
