A guide to Europe’s largest flea market | Braderie de Lille

Every year over the first weekend of September, the northern French city of Lille near the Belgian border turns into a massive open-air flea market. Vendors, antique dealers and local residents occupy every inch of pavement in the city center to lay out their wares. The Grande Braderie de Lille, as the annual event is called, attracts bargain-hunters, shoppers and tourists from all over the world. Whether you’re looking for a vintage treasure, a household object, or you just want to soak in some typical northern French culture, this flea market brimming with superlatives is just the place.
