One more method of element 1 to 20 yo can do this .Oxygen antomic number is 8 .To follow octate rule he wil 2, 6 electron last shel electron is called group so group of oxygen is 6 . Mg number is 12 so 2, 8, 2 so it's group is 2

Let's take Na -11

Period - 3 ( Because next noble gas is Ar which comes in 3rd period )

Group - 18 - 11 = 7 + 10 ( ye 10 plus isliye hua kyuki group 3 se 12 tak 10 groups aate hai jo ki 1 - 20 ke elements ke continuous ko break karte hai to + 10 karna padega.

So, 18 - 17 = 1
So, group = 1
Period = 3
