So the meme "how normal people think programing is" isn't a meme anymore

What a time to be alive.

Infinite power!

6:11 "Add a cube"
"These thing used to take several hours"
Yes, that was exactly my experience the last time I tried to use blender.
Well, I heard they worked on their usability since then.

this shows extraordinary progress. the holy grail of being able to tell an AI what you want your code to do is surely a major step closer. it could be amazing for those unable to fund their software projects, but also perhaps problematic for software developers sometime in the future.

This is absolutely astonishing! This is... hot damn, a perfect example of what Arthur C. Clarke meant when he said "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." If you had asked me 20 years ago when/whether an AI could understand human speech and produce artistic works based on it (images, code, novels, etc...), I'd have said you were watching too much Star Trek - and I was a *computer science* student at the time (err... high school student taking a CS course, but still). I wonder whether I missed my calling - whether I should have pursued graduate studies in CS and became an AI researcher. I regret having taken the "easy" route, becoming a mere enterprise webapp developer.

"Codex, determine whether P = NP or not."
Easiest $1 million I ever made.

I would love this for performing many grunt programming tasks. For example "Create a builder for this class where assigning null or a blank string to any variable throws an exception", or "Create a version of the Date class that allows null as year, month, or day, and that represents null as zero."

"Codex, write a function to improve your coding abilities."

And thus, Skynet was born.

The developpers of the future will be educated on how to improve and correct a code, instead of writing it from the bottom! Truly amazing!
I'm starting a Master on Data Science, and your videos really motivated me to do so. Thanks a lot <3

I used this during the Codex programming contest. It works well and will help speed up basic functions that we write constantly. It can make some basic things in one go but for anything complicated you need to ask it to build functions a few lines at a time.

I want a DND VR version of this where the dungeon master makes a basic map uploads it, then each player goes into it in VR and the narrations of the DM cause encounters to happen and characters to animate, it would also work for players within limits when they narrate their actions, give it 10 years and we there
