My dad learned to fly one of those when he was in the Army Air Corps. He went on to fly P-51s in WWII and later flew jets during a 22 yr career in the Air Force.

No matter what new planes I see or what new innovations I fall in love with, there will always be a place in my heart for the biplanes of yesteryear that will never fade.

The yellow paint was specific to the U.S. Navy. The U.S. Army Air Force painted their’s blue and yellow.

I had a ride in one when I was 16...Dr Boston was a flight instructor in WW2 and he saw the smile on my face after the first loop, we did every aerobatic maneuver in the book...hammerhead stall into inverted spins...we did it all...I loved every minute of it...Dr Boston owned a twin beach that he let me fly later that year I got to shoot a couple of landing in LaCrosse WI....Those were great years! Stearman's were modified with up to 1000HP engines for air show work

Flew in a 1941 Stearman and it was the best flight I ever had! Open cockpit is the way to go as long as it's not the depths of winter! Lol

In WW2 there was no US Air Force, it was the Army Air Corps. No such rating as the tail wheel rating, it is a tail wheel endorsement. Other than that good job. I do enjoy your videos.

You fly from the back for C of G reasons, the passenger/instructor sits in the front so that the C of G doesn’t change much.

That slow could be remedied by adding a slightly larger 3 bladed paddle prop which would grab more air.

Interesting to see but it is not a good plane. Very bad engineering
