This is not the answer, but it is a new playstyle. The KR victims are expressing their bewilderment. It seems to be known overseas as well.
For existing players, I recommend going for Lich Bane instead of Liandry's
Katarina was nerfed because she was too strong, but she still seems to be doing okay.

As a Kat player, im just having identity crisis with every passing season. Once Kat was a mobile AP assassin, then she was a AD caster with Kraken and on hit, then she was a mobile bruiser with Divide Sunderer, then a AP on hit, and now a poke mage in lane

People have also been playing this Support, similar to Leblanc. Seems like a troll at first, but the poke early with Sudden Impact (E back) makes for an extremely oppressive lane phase at roughly 120~130 per Q total on a squishy at Lv1. You are basically a manaless pre-rework Pantheon.

For more pressure, take TP Ignite and make an early recall for Dark Seal + Boots + Refill + Sweeper.

Comet is somewhat viable against immobile bot duos such as ADCs with no Fleet and aren't Jhin, no Pyke/Janna/Zilean etc. Dark Harvest is a noobtrap even for all-in comps. Ban Leona since she's tanky and her engage ignores your weaving in the wave.

A high Elo Chinese Kat also messed around with Cosmic Drive first item. Fiendish Codex and Kindlegem's Haste makes a 5-second Q spam unbearable for even sustain duos. Use W only to reset E so you have it up every time you Q poke. You will almost never lose lane pressure with this.

Build Rylai's second and it's pretty gross with how much damage you can soak, afterwards you build Liandry's for damage upkeep and final item

Hope this brings to light how Riot has absolutely no idea what they're doing with these Kat changes.

I've played against this kind of build and it was annoying. Infinity dashes, burn, and burst. It does fall off later, but most games end long before that's relevant.

Kata is a kind of champs that cool with almost any build u want to cook. Even crit or lethality.

This is just an off rune page Kata build.. The players would of done the same results with electrocute standard. AND this ONLY works on actual mid laners, not the 90% of the time bruiser/tank top champ midlane pickers. If you dont got red side for counter picking/safe lock, welcome to the midlane. Etc.
