After a crazy week getting the new floors down, and hoping upon hope that they would dry in time ready to film the Chateau DIY Christmas special, we experience a major storm that threatens both the filming and much of the hard work we have put into the renovations to date. This episode charts the aftermath of the storm, as well as the arrival of our knight in shining armour, Curt.

The Chateau Adventures charts the adventures of Nick and Nicole (and their son Noah) as they take on a renovation of a lifetime to bring back to life an derelict 1,000 year old chateau nestled amongst the vines in the small village of St Julien D'Eymet in the Dordogne, so that they may create both a home and a business.

I'd never do anything inside until that roof addressed. You're throwing good money after bad.

I didn't get a notification for this. You Tube has been weird all day. But I'm watching now.

I think I'll stay here, our weather is smashing, mild not too cold winters, lovely hot summers 5:19 you sometimes we have major storms not like the weather in France.

I don't understand your approach. When we bought our property in the Luberon, the first task was to fix the roof and the windows.

Most of the comments thus far are fairly gloomy. Personally I would prefer to sound a more optimistic note. However, I'm at loss to do so. I went to visit some cousins today who had to give up their lovely home and move to a nursing home. It's odd really that so often these hard decisions are determined by one of smallest rooms in the house, the toilet. Walkers and wheel chairs are practically incompatible with toilets as one ages. In a similar way roofs have a sort of "out of sight, out of mind" existence until they fail to do their assigned task properly. Perhaps it is a blessing to know the extent of the problem and seek a remedy to the roof problem before proceeding further with work that could easily be damaged in another storm. I wish you well.

La priorité pour une maison : hors air et hors eau.
Donc toit, fenêtres …. Sont les premiers travaux à réaliser. Malheureusement, c’est pas le cas pour beaucoup. Bon courage.
