Another powerful storm system is moving across the Great Plains and Midwest, and is threatening to bring strong winds, heavy rain and another chance of tornadoes. Millions of Americans from Colorado to Kentucky are under high wind alerts. Carter Evans reports.

I live in Kansas, and when I saw it become completely yellow outside, it terrified me. Then the power went out, the air was filled with acrid smoke and dust and it was barely breathable. I’m thinking the smoke came from the Oklahoma panhandle. The winds are so bad here the power went out twice.

This storm hit us in California yesterday, can confirm that these winds were something else. You could hear the wind roaring outside, as if a train was rolling through above your house. After the storm past, I heard nothing but sirens for the rest of the day.

We just had a mini storm in Cali yesterday. It’s a complete mess with broken trees and branches all over the roads. But it’s not as bad as tornadoes that just happened in other states. Its pretty devastating. Feel sorry for everyone that got affected by it and lost lives. Can’t imagine what they’re going through.

I am in west Sacramento. I don't know anything outside. I close my door. In my blanket. I hear the strong wind. I look at through the window. The top of the tree is heavy shaking. Wishing the animals are living in the trees and deep down through the earth, and on the ground, all is ok.
