I've never understood the aversion to hearing protection.

Trying to go to sleep at night with a high pitched ringing in your ear is not fun, and it's easily avoidable.

I know guys in their 20s who already have hearing damage and they still don't get it.

I would agree that PPE is a potential good. HOWEVER, they are farmers... Most farmers would just asoon stitch themselves up rather than quit working 'jess ta go down to the doctor...'. The very FACT that any farmers survive to such an age speaks to the overall hardiness of their species...

I hear ya. I don't tell people how to live, but i hope this, "you're a pussy if you wear protective equipment" attitude dies with that older generation. I dont think it will. My buddy lost an eye last year with a little brad gun. Nail hit something hard and a piece of it did a u-turn

Once I learned that brake cleaner enters the skin and blood at the speed of light, I just stopped using it. Not trying to rush it ☠️🪦

Break cleaner never used that though I've used gas a time or two. takes sticky sap right off

Omg 😂😂😂 This was my old man. He would _constantly_ wash his hands with Brake Clean spray after we worked. He'd just spray that shit on and start rubbing his hands together like it was Soft Soap. Worse yet is when he'd give it to me and get all ornery and incredulous when he'd see me hesitate and reach for the pumice hand cleaner instead. After a while though... I gave in. Shit works. At what cost? Idk.

Why does everyone get so limp wristed about safety gear? Yes it’s wise us use it. Yes I wear safety gear when it’s needed. If someone I’ll never meet in YouTube isn’t wearing whatever, I don’t care. Usually don’t even notice it. Go wash the sand out of your minges and worry about yourself.
