Why would they need to do that? I've been intubated awake in an emergency and that was not fun at all.

Having suffered a severe laryngospasm in April of last year because the anesthesiologist didn't take into consideration that I have severe obstructive sleep apnea I don't know exactly what he did after he gave me the midazolam but The laryngospasm ìn the recovery room was so bad I wish they'd have put me back out. Now it's listed in my medical records that because of my SA and other comorbidities that awake intubation be performed.

I had to do this and I can say i imagined it worse. At the end it was okay its not a nice feeling but at least it doesent hurt.
