TAVLI Project Promo

TAVLIproject arises from a simple need: communication. With Syrian refugees and residents of Volos not having a language in common, and thus not being able to communicate verbally, and with the majority of the first being situated in a settlement 8 kilometres away from the city, ways of bringing refugees and local communities together need to be sought out. On a search of what we have in common that may constitute the base for non-verbal interaction, while providing a pleasant experience able to deliver a sense of normality in what is a troublesome time, backgammon arises. Recognising the need of socialisation in a way that overcomes language barriers the TAVLIproject will bring refugees and local communities together in public spaces of the city of Volos.
