Merry Christmas, Dekesy! Yeah, dagger to the heart. We did, however have 30+ SOG for the first time. So there is that.

Not the first time when Patrik speaks before he thinks...

It was a close one! At least close games are exciting.. I just hope Laine is ok and will play the next game. That's more important than a win.

I agree that it was hard to accept the outcome but the effort was there. The Habs could have phoned it in but they didn't.

What I will say about the context of the game was that it was unfortunate that Laine spoke to the media ahead of the game saying anything that was remotely critical of the CBJ team. The team had apparently put together a Laine tribute video but they cancelled it once they heard Laine's remarks - and it was very clear that this was an inspired CBJ team.

Oh well - it was just one game and it was a good one.

Merry Christmas, Drew - keep non deking...

Tough night is a good description. Laine injured (hopefully nothing serious), Dach still struggling however I personally saw him a lot more engaged in this game so a positive...as for the winning goal..I think Matheson screened Monty (tough one!). Habs have to try their best to resign Evans. Obviously don't sign him at any cost but with our issues at Center, you cannot let this guy go. As for our D...AC kinda struggled tonight but he will need a but to get use to the Habs system (whatever that system is!) and I feel Matheson is playing one terrible hockey at the moment. Not sure if trade talks are bothering him but his giveaways and seemingly not paying attention n the defensive zone is hurting the tea, and I feel putting extra pressure on Hutson. Anyways, you move on! Happy Holidays to you Drewm your family and to all your loyal followers!

Truth hurts. There's a reason why everyone just leaves Columbus (Panarin, Bobrovski etc). Laine's crime was to say it out loud because he's brutal honest. He's much more critical for himself, after scoring the hat-trick for the Habs, he said it was a crappy game for him and the Habs deserves better from him.

The CBJ played well, fought hard and earned the win! It was a tough loss for the Canadiens to be sure!
Having said that, the refs were horrible! Gallagher got a unsportsmanlike not for what was said but who said it! The refs don't like Gallagher because he calls the refs out for their multitudes of bad calls and they don't like being questioned! On the other hand, some things I have heard the refs say to players would be highly censored!
I thought there were 5-6 missed calls, both ways, by the refs! The penalty stats reflects that!
In the end, the Canadiens simply missed to many opportunities, like Dach....twice🙄 ...and that is what cost them the game!
I think the NHL has a major problem with the officiating, not just in Canadiens games, in almost every game no matter who is playing! The rule book seems to be just a "guideline" for them instead of the actual rules! They call or don't call what they want to call with impunity!🤦‍♂

my opinion 🦂

Laine got his ass handed to him last night and it was well deserved. Do you all see how soft he is now?
