Thanks for showing us your wips. I’m also a quilter and a cross stitcher. That’s wonderful you have friends and co workers that also stitch.

Love the videos. I have been cross stitching seriously since I have retired and loving it. I was very surprised with the idea that you put a starting date on your work. Never to old to pick up on tricks of the trade. I am going to start doing that. It dose take me quite awhile to finish projects. I am a quilter, knitter and do crochet and a bit of diamond painting. Not enough hours in the day. :).

I'm a lifelong Aida stitcher, soft Aida & Crunchy Aida, I stitch on it all. I think I have that Sewing Notions Kit in my stash. The beautiful Mirabilia on your wall doesn't scream Christmas to me so I would have it on my wall all year long too. I love your Woodland Castle, I was going to suggest to back stitch as you go so I smiled when I saw you were doing that. :) I subscribed!

Hi Kelly! Thanks for the shout-out! I enjoyed your video! If you're interested in Paula Vaughn quilt patterns there is a great pattern book she did called "Quilts for All Seasons" with a different quilt design for every month. They're beautiful! I think the book is still reasonably affordable on the secondary market even though it's long out of print. You should also check out Jessie Marie does stuff on Flosstube. She's one of the OG channels, is absolutely fantastic, and she's working on two of the charts from that book. 😊 Happy stitching!

Awesome video, just subscribed. If you are worried about whether or not a floss will bleed take your leftover bits and put them in soapy water to see if they do. If not then go ahead and wash your piece! Usually use cold water and a mild soap, and possibly a color catcher you can find in the laundry aisle. They are like dryer sheets but for the washer. 40+ years cross stitching and I've never had anything ruined yet. The biggest culprits are red based colors, red, purple, orange. Any fancy floss will usually say on the tag if it is colorfast. Same with fabrics.

I would take a very soft baby toothbrush that is barely damp with some soap suds on it and gently try on some of the edge pencil marks. I future you can find disappearing ink fabric pens. I use the heat removing ones. Or you can order Magic grid aida with the lines already gridded. I buy it by the yard in 25 CT for my HAED full coverage pieces. Even using doing 1:1 tent stitch I have never had the grid lines show through.

Hope that helps!

I have Paula Vaughn's season of quilts booklet and there is a month that has an epp type quilt, but it's not as pretty as the one your mom did! I planned to stitch it eventually though, I love EPP.

The best things about flosstube is I find people like you who are stitching things I haven't seen before. Love your pieces.

Try washing and air drying a small section or corner where you can see pencil to see if it comes out. If it does then maybe finish it. You have a lot done. Update us! Peace

Hello! I enjoyed watching your video! As an experienced stitcher (26 years), I had a few thoughts about the project with a pencil which may or may not help you. First, I agree with a poster below that your COULD try to wash it now and see if you can get the pencil out. You should have no trouble since it is aida and DMC. I washed EVERYTHING and never knew differently until 5-6 years ago, when I found flosstube . ( However, I also did not use hand dyed floss or fabric before then, either). Another thought for if you do not want to wash, or it does not come out, is that, once you decide if you can live with the crosses going different ways ( I think it looks beautiful and most people will never notice that at all even looking on the wall, but I have friends who DO see it in their own work and cannot live with it personally), then, if you can live with it, you could go over ONLY the stitches where the line shows through ( like her skirt) with one more thread, or 2 threads with only the top leg of your stitch. I have done this and pulled it a little tighter than normal . If I look very! closely, it looks slightly bulky compared to the surrounding stitches, but overall cannot see it at all . Just a thought to help you save your lovely work. It can be a lovely record of where you came from. I hope you figure out what makes you hapiest. Happy Stitching

I'm loving the lavender fabric for your blue lady. That will be stunning 😍 And Ophelia is amazing. You just talked me into buying her!

Try using a rubber eraser. Not the eraser that's on a pencil. They're white. gum eraser. I used it when It got my pencil marks out. Make sure you clean the eraser each time you erase.
