Just finished my first game of Dragonwood with my seven-year-old daughter. She loved it! Can’t wait to play it again tomorrow. It’s the most complex thing I’ve introduced her to and brings us one step closer to Settlers of Catan on family game night. :) Will have to make sure the four-year-old catches up first, though!

Good review. I just purchased this and my children really, really enjoy it.  Great game for the 2nd and 3rd grade crowd, and perhaps a bit older.  I wish there were more games with this type of traditional fantasy theme that included a simpler dice/strategy/luck mechanic like this one.

It's a good game to play with younger kids to get them into the hobby. For older players it would make a good drinking game.

Minor mistake. You state there are 4 suits of 10 cards in the red adventurer deck. There are actually 5 suits of 12 cards.

My 6 year old daughter loves this. Way more than I do 😢 This and Exploding Kittens she could play everyday.

I like the looks of this actually, will probably be picking it up.  Basic strategies are fairly obvious, I suspect this would be great as a gateway game.

Not sure it's these dice but they are uncommonly low rolling dice, for all players, in every game I've played of this. It certainly adds frustration and excitement when you do get a good roll. It's not uncommon to see 5 dice not produce 12 pts for capture.
