It can look the same, but when you are in the presence of an arrogant person you don't feel good. An arrogant person doesn't care how you feel. A confident person is able to pay attention to you. A confident person feels they can do things well, but they are also excited that you can do things well, too.

needed to hear this. i recently was told at work that “i’m not confident” by a coworker who is a very big personality and i have mistaken their “confidence” for arrogance. it has hit me harder than i expected to receive this criticism because when i told my husband about it he agreed with my coworker and also said that i have “no confidence”.
i guess im just a little confused because i do feel confident in my self and rarely do i even get embarrassed. i try to be patience, inviting, and respectful to everyone i meet. i never really feel threatened but i do feel threatened by my coworker and my husband now. i’m trying to hide my feelings and watch “how to build your self-confidence videos” to work on myself.
