Ahmaud Arbery Preliminary Hearing Part 2 - Agent Richard Dial

Three Georgia men are set to show up to a Glynn County court Thursday morning in the alleged murder of Ahmaud Arbery, 25. Gregory McMichael, 64, and son Travis McMichael, 34, are both charged with murder and aggravated assault, though the younger defendant is being treated as the actual shooter. William “Roddie” Bryan, 50, is faces a count each of felony murder, and criminal attempt to commit false imprisonment. Authorities said he used his vehicle in an attempt to help detain the alleged murder.

Arbery was shot and killed back on February 23 in Brunswick County, but arrests didn’t immediately happen. The first two prosecutors in the case dropped out, citing conflicts of interest centered around the fact that Gregory McMichael used to be an investigator for one of their offices.

The arrests happened shortly after video of the incident was leaked. Alan Tucker, an attorney who is not representing any of the defendants in the crimnal case, has said that the elder defendant helped release it in a bid to get “the truth” out about the incident. But that release backfire, with attorneys for Arbery’s family saying that the truth was that Arbery was murdered. Footage sparked an outcry. Arrests were made.

At the time of the shooting, Gregory McMichael allegedly told people they were trying to confront the man because they believed he was the suspect in a series of break-ins. Arbery’s family has said that he was only jogging in the area.

“Given the daily onslaught over the last several weeks of new information — some credible, some not so credible — you must also know how much work there still is to be done,” attorney Laura Hogue, one of the lawyers who represents Gregory McMichael, said in a press conference Friday, according to CBS News. “But significantly, we know several other critically important facts. Those facts point to a very different narrative than the one that brings you all here today. Those facts will be revealed where all facts that matter are revealed: in a courtroom.”

Bryan attorney Kevin Gough has said that his client is not a “vigilante.”

Their assault started the second they tried to stop him. Any action taken by Mr Arbery after that is self-defense.

I have been very angry about the murder of Ahmaud Arbery since I heard about it! Today I watched the first part of this preliminary hearing & am so sad my heart breaks!
Ahmaud went for a run on a Sunday afternoon & then he realized he was going to be attacked! Three men, two guns & two trucks chased him because he stopped running for a minute! Maybe he was looking at the house with dreams of his home one day! Maybe he was doing whatever other people/children were doing when they entered the area! Whatever....it doesn't matter because 3 "good ole boys" decided it was the day they were going to murder him! And they did just that! They chased him with trucks til he had no where to go! He had already tried leaving the neighborhood by going back when Rodney hit him with his truck! He turned the other way where the McMickels had stopped in the road with pop in the back with his LE gun ready & Travis outside with his rifle ready! Where was he suppose to go? What was he to do? So he ran towards the passenger side of the McMichels truck but Travis was quicker! He stepped around & fired 3 shots at Ahmaud...quick as he could set that rifle....but then he should have been able to do that....after all he hadn't been running anywhere! He was driving his big truck so he killed the man! I know he feels no guilt & he probably never will but I'm praying that he, pop & Rodney know the fear Ahmaud felt every day when they are in their cells soon & that they are in those cells for the rest of their lives, til they are carried out!
I've never been a fan of hunting but I now understand that hunters are much fairer than these "good ole boys"!
It's about time this system changes! We can't afford to continue this kind of evil hatred!

He had a gut feeling that Armaud was the person that was committing robberies in the neighborhood. So that gut feeling is supposed to give them the right, to stalk him, armed with a 357 magnum and a shotgun. With absolutely no proof whatsoever. You got to be kidding me. Where are they coming up with self defense? Someone needs to regroup and actually say the boy wasn't attacking he was trying to hang onto the guy who shot him in the chest. Then they shoot him again. These people need to be held accountable and they were not fearing for there lives because they're the ones attacking the boy and shooting.
