Simple but tasteful. Great example of how you don't need to shred dozens of notes to play a good guitar lick. Love the melodic quality.

I always say, "If you pay attention, you learn something new every day!" Although I have been playing the gitfiddle for almost 40 years I learned something from this video. One of the reasons is because it was straight and concise. I watch every thing guitar related and my advice to any new guitar player is, go after any chance to learn something new about playing guitar like a starving man after a loaf of bread, no matter what the style may be.
You will always pick something up you can use.

Thanks man...you know, I started playing guitar at age 35 and I'm 55 now...So for 20 years I was in and out of bands, played some cool festivals and gigs, and had a great time doing it. Problem is - I learned how to play songs but I never learned how to play the guitar. The roots of learning guitar is what really helps you play your best. When I played cover songs, sure I could learn the simple chords, etc...but I never really understood what I was really learning. These simple video's and lessons have helped me tremendously...! Again, my sincere thanks...!

Brian you are one the topmost guitar teachers on the web. Totally teaches in a thorough stepped method in an almost humble manner which makes learning easy to grasp...Super talented and entertaining

Attn: David Croan. Thank you for allowing us to hear your story of depression as it relates to music. Here is my input:
Hey Brother. You got it! As a Vietnam Vet with service-connected disabilities including PTSD I can speak from experience. I have been fighting depression for many, many years. A few years back my son gave me an acoustic guitar for my BD. At 70 years old (now) I still struggle with depression/anger issues. Not only do I turn to the Lord and The Word as well as VA resources I have found my guitar to be a lifesaver (literally.) I am a poor man and have relied solely on free online guitar lessons. While I have learned a lot this way, I still have a long way to go. BUT - But I play my gitbox a lot (I use the term play loosely.) My strumming and stuff gives me a great deal of relief. My goal is be able to get good enough to play in the worship band at church. (perhaps a pipe dream.) So David, KEEP GOING.

The vibrato is incredible. I have tried this just yesterday 19may... Knowing the difficulties I experienced with my beginner level guitar playing I can appreciate a great deal hearing and watching how you include vibrato into your songs Brian. I enjoy these videos. Way to go Brian. A job well done.

Very good. He's not trying to show how good he plays. He's showing others how to play and play better.

As you said at the beginning, these are great for those of us who seek improving or playing through kind and talented internet teachers like yourself.

Hey I have been trying to play for several years and you are the only person to show it slow and complete and I joined your site and I would like to say thanks to you for the way you teach. Gil

+David, I'm kind of in the same boat, I suffer from PTSD after Iraq. Learning to play blues guitar is one outlet to help me stay intact. Keep it up, love life however possible, and be strive to be happier than you were yestrerday.

I've been stuck for the past 3o years and struggling with the basics that I've learned. Now that I've heard you I have hopes of moving on. Thank you.

Even tho most of this is always way over this old mans head and I can never get half of it...to me it is still worth it, because downloading the tabs and being able to go back and slowly get it a little at a time makes it worth while.
Brian does a lot of great work . It is worth the few bucks to pick up a little. Music teachers charge Big Bucks to do far less than what Brian does and demand you do everything they do so -so...that is normally Nothing you want to do...Brian has a wide range of genre's he covers. Worth every penny for awhile
