MM Rain Scene Unedited

Needed this clip for an English project, and as much as I love the fandom, there is literally not one link to the unedited, un-jazzed up version, so I made my own. Huzzah.

This scene always gets me right in the feels. But if there's one thing I admire about Megamind in this scene, it's this-- even though he's been rejected, he doesn't make drama out of it like Tighten did. He just lets Roxanne go. That is the mark of a true gentleman.

Roxanne is probably one of the few girls in animation with a realistic personality.

This is seriously one of the most underrated animated movies in film history!! I love that despite the simple concept on the plot and the character stereotypes, there is lots of complexity on the character development that it makes them more unique than they appear!

This is also one of the most emotional scenes I've ever seen in both live-action and animated film, making this one of my favorite scenes in the movie! When Megamind is exposed from his disguise, Roxanne is clearly disgusted and is in shock after believing that dating her was just another one of Megamind's evil schemes!

But in truth, Megamind genuinely fell in love with her and saw that starting a life with her could've been the perfect way to end his life as a supervillain! At 2:29 Roxanne herself realizes his feelings for her and his true intentions. But despite this, she is convinced that because of his long history of wrong doing they can never be together!

What gives the audience hope that there is a chance however, is when she looks back at him 3:07. Which conveys that despite all of what's happened, she too has feelings for Megamind! I know this is long and weird, but I needed to let all of that out!!! LOL!!!

2:26 gets me every time. SO much emotion and story in a single look and the defeated sound of the "no" makes it so much sadder...

"What about judging book by cover." very powerful and sentimental statement from Mega mind. Best line of the movie. "Do you ever really think I will ever be with you" - "No". That is call love....I find Megamind is the true victim here. I have never seen such a tragic animated character. Most of them are black and white. But Megamind blows our hearts away. In that sense it is unique.

My heart always goes out to him when I watch this scene.  He was actually trying so hard to be good because he fell in love with Roxanne.  I know he did all those things Roxanne said, but I still feel bad for him.

When I saw this scene, I felt bad for Megamind :(
I know this part with sadness and the rain is too cliché, but I really felt sad.

I can't get past the way he looks at Roxanne at 2:25...it's so vulnerable: telling a million things without a single word. Longing, love, the need to tell her everything but knowing it will be futile in the end—it's all written in that look. This scene is extremely realistic and conveys the sentiments involved perfectly; I think that's what makes it so powerful.

Something is wrong with me. This is the saddest scene in the movie yet I cannot stop watching it! LOL!  Anyway, I know a few of the comments people have made regarding the look he gives her after she asks what he hopes to gain means love, but every single time I watch this scene I always see "you" written all over his face when he looks up at her.

2:26-2:45. the look on his face breaks my heart. you can tell he's absolutely, seriously in love with her and is ashamed of it because of who he is. and he knows she'll never love him _because_ of who he is, and you can feel the despair bleeding from his eyes. this movie is so freakung underrated.

Little detail I recognized: Roxanne's clothing changes as her relationship with megamind progresses. At the beginning of the movie, her dress was red, showing how she and the blue megamind were complete opposites. Then in the middle of the movie (including this scene), her dress is purple, showing how her and megamind lives were now intermingled and how she has mixed feelings of anger and love for him. Finally, at the end of the movie, her dress is completely blue, showing how she and megamind's relationship was close and friendly (though probably platonic)
and how she has accepted him for the flawed hero that he is. It is tiny details like this that make a subversive treat like Megamind such a good movie.







P.S: I do kind of ship Roxanne x Megamind. Dont hate, it's just my opinion.

Anyone ever notice how when Megamind transforms into another person he also takes on their voice, but he doesn't with Bernard?  Have you ever noticed that the only thing that doesn't change when he transforms into others is the color of his eyes?  Every time he transforms into another person his eyes are still green even though no one he transforms into has green eyes.  Metroman and the warden both have blue eyes and Bernard has brown eyes!  Just a couple of things I always watch when I obsessively watch this movie.
