Finally got around to compiling pull rates from Chilling Reign. Let's take a look at the pull rates and how this set stacks up to previous ones!

For me the pull rates have been worse then battle styles .. and I can’t even complain about battle styles because it treated me well but chilling reign has been terrible for me unfortunately

Thanks for the breakdown!! I opened 3 booster boxes and got 1 secret rare rainbow trainer. No alt arts. 1 full art. It was disappointing. But atleast I got majority of the main set done haha after the 3rd box still not having a alt art I decided to buy the main alt arts I wanted and I’m done buying sealed packs for this set lol

I love the numbers/stats, and also glad you had a decent sample size. I hate that I get caught up in the numbers sometimes, but to hear that I have a card that has an extremely low pull rate is so exciting. Keep up the great work!!

Fantastic video Danny. Shame about the pull rates and quality issues. I was genuinely looking forward to opening these packs. Sat down with a coffee and the pokemon theme song playing to get me hyped and slowly spiraled into a depression the more I opened.

Awesome analytical content. I’ve only opened 1 booster box so far and I managed to pull both the full art Blaziken V & and alternate art Shadow Rider Calyrex V. Definitely goes to show that the law of large numbers/ averages will run true with enough pack openings

Totally agree on the extreme of low to no pull rates on some and others more. So painful. It’s almost like one has to buy a case now . I got 3 volcanion V full art and 2 rainbow averys from the ETBS, in case there’s a pattern

I really appreciate this analysis. It’s amazing the difference between how the Japanese sets are set up, and the English sets. Much harder to get a full set from a booster box of English despite there being more cards/box. With two children asking for these specific V and Vmax cards for their playing decks, singles are the way to go! Makes me wonder if someone out there is interested in doing an estimate of the base cost of one set by getting bulk + singles. I am certain it trends much much lower than the cost of finding it ‘by luck/pack opening’. It also seems like with such a big set, we would have needed a much higher ‘pull rate’ to allow the everyday person to get close to what they wanted/needed without spending a grand on trading cards.

Thank you for the data analytics! This helps me tamper a little of my expectation. Started collecting and opening Pokemon cards again recently! I pulled a Blaziken V and the centering was just WAY off!
