Every death in Harry Potter is necessary at least to me. It truly puts into perspective that they are completely at war and no one is safe. Also Hedwigs death symbolizes the death of Harry’s childhood. Same goes for Harry’s wand if what Olivander believes is true, that wands have their own feelings and their own minds. In the battle of the seven potters, in the book, Harry’s wand acts on it’s own to protect him from Voldemort.
