I am from a very remote village from kpk Pakistan. My father used to listen to some selected songs on a tape all the time I MEAN ALL THE TIME. Back then I was too younger to understand Urdu because I could only understand Pashto, the only thing I knew was that the singer is a female. when I was 10 I wanted to listen to all those songs and the first song I heard, in Urdu or Hindi, was HAWA Mein Orta Jaye mora laal dupatta mal mal ka. this voice was so soothing and cozy that I wanted to listen to her more songs. in 2013 my mother bought me a computer when I turned 15. since then I have been listening to her and to 50's and 60's music not only that I sing with didi songs so that I could enjoy the song more. in 2013 I took part in competitions in school and college and got the first position I took part. the ONE I am very proud of was on a district level I prepared so enthusiastically and BOOM got the first position. indeed she is the nightingale of India. I could barely know any other singer in the world than her because I rarely type any other singer name in search bar not because I hate their work but I don't want to switch to a new music era. . Now I want to listen to her all the time as my father used to.

I used to live in Bombay in the 50's 60's 70's and early 80's and used listen to these lilting songs. I am now 69 and I live in Boston and listening to these songs on my computer.Very nostalgic. I have tears in my eyes remembering those olden days in Bombay listening to these beautiful voices of Lata, Mukesh, Kishore, Rafi etc.
