I played it by ear and just played the melody root notes I never realized it had and actual bass line and it shows not to trust my ear and a Paul McCartney song without a bass line specially written.

Ya that fender bass 6 string came in handy for john and george i read that both paul and george got fender jazz basses at the same time and i think george on octopuses garden i may be wrong it could have been oh darling.
