A high toss means more speed on the ball, more speed on the ball means if done right your serve is gonna be much more powerful. Strength x Speed = Power. That is why all the pro athletes toss the ball as high as possible.

For beginners this is absolutely right, get the foundation first and then move on from there

a short toss only works if you know exactly how high you want the ball. high toss is a little safer bc it cant be too low for you to serve.
