I honestly really feel this song. My grandma has been gone for years now, she died when I was 16, I'm 21 now and the past couple days I can recall her voice and laugh and memories I couldn't before, and I know this will pass, but I also know she'll come back over and over in my mind through my life. I see my cat(s) I lost over the last 3 years around me off and on, etc (it's my brain, I think it might be my psychosis but I also am on medication for that and it seems to be working so maybe it's being caused by my grief.) I am in mourning granted as I lost my last one almost a month or so ago, but still. They may be gone, but they're also still here with me. And I don't mean in a spiritual sense, I mean they're in my memories, thoughts, ME. Who I am, it's been shaped by people like my grandma, my future interactions with my future cats, my current dog, all will and have been shaped by my past pets. Even when I myself am gone, there's someone out there who has been shaped by my existence, and they'll help shape someone elses, etc.
