How do they deal with the fluctuations of the level of the dam’s reservoir to match the gates of the lift.

they really need a mule system to help guide those ships in and out, like the Panama. Its too narrow for normal steerage at such a slow speed.

DO they arrive on schedule, or can you come by with your ship, and just like it happens on boarded between countries, you may stumble upon a huge line of ships, waiting to pass through. On Nat Geo they were always demonstrating how the lift lifts ship, and didn't stop to think that it is a 2 way direction. It must serve ships coming against river flow and with the water flow too.

They are doing a different way than Panama canal. In panama canal, ships are lowered by releasing water and elevated by feeding water in the locks.
