The issue is when the fatigue hits you in the center of your work, at that point you're just suffering through the day

Tried it in the past. Tired all day, excited to go to bed early.... but end up finding my second wind right when I'm trying to go to bed and end up staying up late again and being doubly tired in the morning.

“Body fatigue” is putting it lightly. If I don’t have enough sleep I literally can’t focus or do anything productive and have mad anxiety at work all day because of it.

Having PTSD and chronical nightmares is the hard mode of having a healthy sleep schedule...but I'll try this !!

The hardest part is getting through the weekend without staying up past 10pm.

Light alarm.
Get an alarm that starts a light that slowly gets brighter.
It helps SO much.

Get sunlight in your eyes as soon as possible after waking up. When you wake up, try to just get out of bed quickly and go outside for a few mins.

My problem isn't waking up -- it's falling asleep. Body fatigue doesn't do anything for me.

I have this thing where I'll be nodding off in my chair and I'm like, "yep time to go to bed". I'll get in bed and for no good reason I'm vibrating with adrenaline and my brain is turning over a million things. Bed time has always been my enemy.

Some days it is definitely easier to function with 3-4 hours of sleep over 6-7 hours.

Thank you for your medically informed choice!
This is one of the few pieces of wisdom I've gotten right. There is so much social pressure to "not be perky" in the mornings that it's hard to pass on, tough. I always wake before my alarm (unless I'm sick), but I always set it just in case.

I had a terrible sleep schedule for probably 8 years and then Dr. K's video on setting your wake up time one hour earlier has helped significantly the past few days. We'll see if I continue to follow this schedule; I think it will turn out well. Thank you.

I started doing this like a week ago completely by chance and it's working.

Never worked for me because I fight through the fatigue at the end of the day to attempt to hoard and recapture as much of my life as I can. I absolutely cannot get up, go to work, go home, and go to sleep without any time for myself.

I still wake up in the middle of the night and my brain waits from 5am to 9am to get sleepy again.

Hmm... I think it's worth a shot. I do find that my inconsistent schedule messes with my sleep. I'd like to be in bed by 9 but other life things regularly mess with that. I have historically needed more sleep, and if I get less than 8 it ends up being a severe deficit over time and I become exhausted and sleep 12 hours straight once a month.

The Problem: I will then be 'planned tired' in the evening, but STILL Not Go to bed, and then I am wired instead of tired' and the cycle continues...

And then I get tired at 6pm, almost feel like sleeping but push through it, and by the time it's 10-11pm I'm not tired anymore and I wanna stay up again. It's like my body knows when it would be convenient to feel sleepy, and decides to never make it a good time to actually sleep
