I bought the PL600in part due to your review. I immediately read the manual. I have no idea how to program this receiver because the manual is so poorly written! (I have several degrees in English, owned both a communications agency and publishing house and wrote manuals. I think I can recognize one that lacks information? The battery keeps flashing and bars appear. I haven't any idea of what it means. I can't set the memory, never got the short wave to work, etc, etc, Do you think you could review how to program/work the radio? Please!

Good overview - in my mind a pretty good portable for the used price these days if you can find one under $60. My only issue is it tends to overload - so don't attach direct wires to the whip or jack most of the time (there are cases where you will) - use inductance. I've actually used this radio for a QRP receiver during contests on CW.

Hello nice lecture I learned a lot. Got a question I am from the Philippines living in a province 50 miles from Metro Manila (Capital Region) sadly I can only pick up local FM stations here in my province not even stations from Manila. I am planning to buy Tecsun PL660 and it would be my first to try shortwave. I am not sure if I would be able to pick some shortwave bands or what but I would like to try it. It is just buying this product or the PL600 will cost higher than the price in US or other countries maybe. I just wanted to make that purchasing this radio will be worthwhile. What do you think?

I bought the Tecsun PL-660. It works very well. It was a toss up between this one and the 660 and from reviews the 660 seemed to be the best option.

Sir, I dont know anything about air band,
please explain what is air band and is it really usefull in a radio device as it is costly with pl680 as pl600 is little affordable.
what should I buy,
what will I miss In pl600 If I buy pl600.
and is air band reception really important.
please explain this, as Im buying first ssb radio.
