We first learn about factoring when we work with quadratics. But we can also factor polynomials whose degree is higher than 2. This introduction video is an overview of all the different methods we use to do it.

The man (the speaker of this video) has such a motivational voice and it make the most frustrating topics piled into a beautiful mystery that gets a lot of attention from us(students)

Ok... sorry for the intrusion, but it has been a few centuries since I was last in school, like 1993, and back that I ace algebra totally. Since then the cogs have gotten rusty, (Blast them darn depression meds), and I am watching a video where on the board behind the teacher I see an algebraic problem for the students to solve. Not sure that it is written correctly, but having fond memories of my algebra classes of a by gone era, I am trying to figure this problem out... (3x+(2x4}^2! By any chance can someone tell me what the solution is, OR perhaps it is wrong in the video? Please!

This is the most worthless thing in math. Why would you ever do this besides for the sake or marks?
