Lots of great stuff on this beach. Come huntin' with me!

– MERCH –
Buy Michigan Rocks shirts and other merchandise here.

– HIGHLAND PARK LAPIDARY –
Highland Park makes some high quality tools at reasonable prices. I have two of their tumblers. They're the most rugged tumblers I have seen. They also make a wide range of other lapidary tools, including saws, sphere machines, cabbers, etc. They also have the best price on grit that I have found.
I make a commission if you buy something through this link. I doesn't cost you extra.

– KINGSLEY NORTH –
Kingsley North is a lapidary store in Michigan's U.P. They make a great cab machine and sell many other brands too. They have a huge selection of rough rock, tumblers, grit, jewelry supplies etc. at good prices. If you buy using the following link, I make a small commission.

This is the cabbing machine I use:

– THE ROCK SHED –
I buy a lot of lapidary supplies and rough rock from The Rock Shed. I don't make money from your purchases there, but they have good prices and good service. This is where I buy my finer grits and polish.

– AMAZON STOREFRONT –
I also have an Amazon storefront. This is where you can find other products you may have seen in my videos. As an Amazon Influencer, I earn from qualifying purchases. It doesn't cost you extra.

– SUBSCRIBE –
On Michigan Rocks you can join me on relaxing rock hunts in picturesque Michigan. I'll also show you how to polish rocks and teach you other lapidary techniques. New videos are posted every Friday and some Tuesdays. Subscribe now so you don't miss any upcoming videos!

I enjoy the zen feel of your videos. The quiet, the waves rippling, kayak paddle sounds, the stillness of the drone. And of course the rocks. Nice work. Virtual rock hunts. Thanks

As usual, I’m giddy with excitement looking ahead w you at the beach stones. I even lean into my iPad. Sick huh? Then, suddenly you stop and You pick up a phenomenal stone. You say “that’s a cool stone”. I’m gazing at the beauty in your hand when my heart drops like a pudding stone in the middle of Lake Michigan on the coldest of the coldest day in the history of our era (whatever that is). You release it, “Not what I’m looking for today”.

Sigh….well, at the very least I owe you big-time for the joy of the walk and the education you provide.
Just gettin started,
Karyn
If I should ever find one that you left behind, what do I need to do to ID said stone?

Nice trip to North Beach. By 11 am that beach has had a dozen or more people on it each day. Weather was definitely cooperative for a nice walk.

Thanks for taking me along. My ancestors settled Petoskey(Belmer) so even though I live in Louisiana, the Petoskey stone brings me back. 🙂

Rob, you are a man of many talents -- drone pilot, rock hound, and juggler extraordinaire! This was a fun hunt -- I knew from the thumbnail you had success, but I had my doubts early on. Glad the Leland Blues and the Good Petoskey Stones started to pop up for you. Great drone footage and gorgeous water on Lake Michigan....thanks for making that long trip just for us.

Rob, I want to thank you for your videos and inspiring my wife, grandson and myself to give rock tumbling a try. He is special needs and we all had a blast collecting rocks on our Michigan vacation. Once again thank you and we are excited to get started.

Those boulders are magnificent! They make me wish I had taken more geology classes in school so I could understand the forces that made them.

Thanks for the video.

The drone shot was cool. Lots of Petoskey stones. Those Leland Blues are cool. No fish. They must not know your is a rock not a fishing show. Great finds again. Was fun to watch. Great video

We talked with the guy in waders, he had a generous amount of white hair and I thought as underdressed whit just a wind breaker on, healthier than me! I told him about the story of being slammed against the break wall during return trips when the weather changed. Just want you to know my x-principal friend and I both watch your Chanel and enjoy your walks. He is all over beaches too. I grew up with teacher parents, a daughter of a science teacher who taught us to appreciate geology. My daughter too is a teacher but we disappointed Dad and both became art teachers. Anyway... the juggling cracked me up and you do a great job. Thanks and stay well.

Hi I am new to your site and enjoying all of the videos even the ones that are long. I am learning a lot from you and so excited my hubby is taking me to North Beach this weekend. We have done some google map searching and are having trouble seeing how to access the beach. Could use a tip if you can find the time. Your dry sense Of humor makes us laugh out loud when we are watching. Keep up the good work and looking forward to being a part of your followers. God Bless you and yours, Debi Younce
