She was huge, and then in 2004, she contracted Lyme Disease. I'm not sure if you guys have it in the UK it's caused by the bite of a deer tick.
Left undiagnosed, it can cause many problems. With Shania, it affected her vocal cords, so 15 years she couldn't sing anymore.
She's now touring again.

Shania Twain is a huge Canadian singer songwriter with lots of hit songs. She is one of the best selling artists in country pop history. She had a very tragic life, lost her mom & stepfather in 1987 & had to look after her younger siblings. In 1993 she released her first album & the rest, as they say, is history. Some of her hits are "Man! I Feel Like A Woman", "That Don't Impress Me Much", "Any Man Of Mine", "Your Still The One", "Forever & For Always" etc.

Shania is a powerhouse. She definitely ruled the airwaves during the early 2000s. Not necessarily "traditional" country but I still loved it. My favorite by her is probably No One Needs To Know.
